RQ Relational Intelligence

“Emotional Intelligence (a part of Relational Intelligence) is a way of recognizing, understanding, and choosing how we think, feel, and act. It shapes our interactions with others and our understanding of ourselves. It defines how and what we learn; it allows us to set priorities; it determines the majority of our daily actions. Research suggests it is responsible for as much as 80% of the “success” in our lives.”— J. Freedman

Relational Intelligence is the ability to ENGAGE with others personally and professionally as well as being able to MANAGE yourself in relationships.

ENGAGING (with others) includes:
| Social Skills
| Listening
| Healthy Communication
| Teamwork
| Empathy

MANAGING (self) includes:
| Noticing and being aware of your emotions in the moment
| Managing your emotions under pressure
| Choosing to transform negative thoughts or situations into positive ones
